Yes. The database of Botan has cultivated varieties and native wildflowers, and thus the scanner identifies a garden rose and a roadside goldenrod equally well.

Occasionally, yes, and this is particularly true when there’s a blurry image or two species appear exactly the same. Botan will also display a score of confidence and will provide you with similar species — you can confirm the result or re-take the photo in order to have a second attempt.

Is it possible to identify both orange and yellow flowers in a single photo?

Botan identifies each flower separately, hence when one bloom is framed in the center of the shot, the identification is the most sure. In a mixed bouquet, each flower should be scanned individually to obtain a precise ID of each species.
